Mindfulness
Mindfulness can help you become more aware of the present moment and activate your body’s relaxation response by engaging your senses and body.
This parasympathetic nervous system activation can help you de-stress and support healing. Mindful breathing and yoga may also support the body’s recovery from illness and overall immune functioning.
Chair Yoga
Chair Yoga makes the practice of yoga’s poses and range of motion exercises accessible to a broader audience, because all movements are done while seated in a chair.
Individuals with physical limitations (e.g., wheelchair bound, poor motor control, or balance) and those who are differently abled will also be able to participate!
Ask your physician for medical clearance before participating in yoga exercise.
Follow along with this brief chair yoga practice designed to support gentle movement, mindful breathing, and relaxation while seated.
